Dartmouth Returns to Winning Ways with Road Win Over Cornell

No. 20 Dartmouth (8-1; 5-1 Ivy) bested Cornell (3-6; 2-4 Ivy) in Ithaca, bouncing back from a heartbreaking loss to the Princeton Tigers a week ago. Sophomore quarterback Derek Kyler threw for 167 yards and a pair of touchdowns, a 27-yard strike to sophomore offensive lineman Jake Guidone (his second receiving touchdown on the season) and a 22-yard pass to sophomore tight end J.J. Jones III. The vaunted Big Green rushing attack racked up 242 yards on the ground, led by junior quarterback Jared Gerbino who rushed for 106 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Senior running back Rashaad Cooper accounted for 73 yards on the ground and touchdown.

The defense held Cornell to less than 100 yards rushing on the day. Junior cornerback Isiah Swann picked off Cornell early in the first quarter, his 11th interception of the season. Senior Kyran McKinney-Cruden recovered a fumble in the third quarter. Freshman kicker Connor Davis a perfect 5-for-5 on extra points.

Dartmouth returns to Memorial Field to complete its schedule this Saturday, November 1th, playing host to Brown (1-8; 0-6 Ivy). While Princeton wrapped up the Ivy title with a win over Yale last weekend, the Big Green look to finish the season strong!
